PETER CONNER began writing music in the middle ages but soon realised there was no money in madrigals so turned his hand to writing for beat combos in the 70s. This culminated in his first publishing contract with E&S Music (the ‘S’ being Simon Cowell - when his waist-band was at a more acceptable level). This didn’t hold him back however and at the turn of the (20th) century he and his friend James, incensed by hearing Mr Scruff’s ‘Get a move on’ on every TV show going, decided to produce a shedload of broken-beat, low-fi, down-tempo earworms that have since found a home in almost every day-time TV show you can shake a fist at. Ever wondered what that irritating but nevertheless catchy tune playing in the background is as Gordon Ramsay drives somewhere to crucify yet another hapless would-be restaurateur?  It’s more than likely a ‘Mr & Mrs Swing’ tune! Numerous bands later and fast-forwarding to 2016, Peter met Charlie Jones and her partner Quinn and quickly realised that Charlie had the voice of an angel that had descended, fully formed, from a cloud. They became The Wounded Healers and the rest, as they say, is as good as a break. Charlie and Quinn sadly decided to leave the band in 2019. Peter is of Finnish descent (his Great, Great Uncle was the composer Jean Sibelius, which might account for his lighthearted, yet still gloomy and foreboding style of music?) Other than completing 7 symphonies, Peter’s sole ambition now is to stop writing about himself in the third person.

CHARLIE JONES (band member 2017-19) grew up in Northern suburbia, singing in choirs and the church band, failing to play orchestral oboe, and learning a bit of piano. But coming from a conservative Christian family, she never thought her dream of performing in a band could ever be real. "I've leant so much recording in the Sweet Factory, but I'm still really glad I got singing lessons for taking double maths." In 2015 Charlie teamed up with Quinn Needham to explore his roots in 70s country, americana & rock. Together they've achieved 'regional success' around their new musical hometown of Cleethorpes. "There's a really great music scene around here. Even though we're a tourist town it's not all cheese like SkegVegas. But it's just one of this place's little secrets that not many people ever discover." Quinn spends as much time as possible musically noodling about, and Charlie catches the songs before they disappear. "We make a pretty good team!"

ANDY HEMMINGS is a self taught drummer and percussionist hailing from the north island of New Zealand. He has been playing the drums professionally on and off since the age of 16. Initially learning his trade in various original & cover bands in and around his hometown of Hamilton. In 2000 Andy came over to the UK to broaden his rhythmical horizons. His playing career has seen him play all over the UK and Europe. In recent years Andy has taken a step (or 3) back from touring to concentrate on local gigs and teaching drums. With a desire to combine two of his passions, drumming and woodwork, Andy designs and builds unique drums and percussion instruments and gets to test them out on unsuspecting bands like The Wounded Healers.
